MIDDLE EAST CRISIS

Civillians Demonstrations in the Middle East

“MIDDLE EAST” is traditionally defined as the Fertile Crescent and near surroundings from Egypt and Anatolia in the west to Iran at the east.

The list of conflict in the Middle East can be grouped into the following phases, since the ancient

  4. Iron age conflicts
  5. Classic period conflicts
    1. Persian and Hellenistic conflicts
    2. Roman – Sasanid period
  6. Medieval conflicts
  7. Ottoman period
    1. Ottoman Tanzimat period
  8. Modern period

ISRAEL AND PALETINE CONFLICT
The conflict between Israel and Palestine can be traced back during the 1947 United Nations resolution which was passed to initiate the creation of the Jewish state within Palestine. This led to the 1948 Arab – Israel war.
Certain portion which were taken by Jews after they won the war are very important for religious issues to the Muslims like the some parts of eastern Jerusalem where the AL – AQSA mosque is situated, but also the WAILING WALL

 PALESTINE AND THE CONFLICT
They see that they are not free people because Israelis soldiers stop them at check points between cities and therefore they must gain Israel approval each day to go to work, also they have less access to water.

PALESTINE FOUR CONDITIONS FOR PEACE
  1. A  separate Palestinian state ( with 1967) borders
  2. Palestine control over East Jerusalem
  3. Ending Israel occupation over Palestine territories
  4. Freedom of palatine refuges to return to their homeland

ISRAEL AND THE CONFLICT
They view Palestine militants as the terrorist who will not compromise to gain peace

ISRAEL FOUR CONDITIONS FOR PEACE
  1. Palestine borders that ensures continuing Israelis security from Palestine attacks not the 1967.
  2. Israel control of all Jerusalem
  3. Enough Israel control within Palestinian to allow Israel to destroy terrorist groups
  4. Prevention of Palestinian refugees from returning to their homeland.
CAUSES OF THE CONFLICT
  1. Israel occupation over Palestine following the 1947 UN resolution.
  2. Control over East Jerusalem
  3. History and religious differences: Hebrews bible, Genesis 16:11, the case of Abraham and his two sons Ishmael and Isaac
  4. Israel apartheid against Palestine
  5. Global need for middle east oil
  6. Human toll
  7. The seized of the Suez canal by Gamal Abeid Nasser ( the Suez war 1956)

IMPACTS
  1. Emergency of terrorism, Abu Nidal, Al- Qaeda, Islamic Jihads, HAMAS and Hezbollah
  2. Influx of Non- Israel refugees
  3. Massacre or mass killing of people
  4. Racial discrimination
  5. Destruction of Palestinian properties by Jews
  6. Adversarial relations
 HOW PEACE CAN BE ACHIEVED
  1. Resolving the conflict by compensating refugees or allowing them to return to their places of origin if practicable
  2. Withdrawal of all Israel settlements and any other presence back to the 1967 borders
  3. East Jerusalem to be part of Palestine and Israel to be given access to the WAILING WALL
  4. Release of Palestine refugees held by Israel
  5. Creation of Palestine state in the Eastern bank of GAZA.
  6. Reform of the Palestinian authority.
