Barack Obama,President of The United States of America
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister
The issue of peace in the Middle East currently is the most hot and intense issue all over the world especially the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Hope for peace in this region rises following the signing of the Refugees exchanging agreement between the government of Israel and Hamas.
The conflict between Israel and Palestine can be traced back during the 1947 United Nations Resolution which was passed to initiate the creation of Jewish state within Palestine. This led to the 1948 Arab-Israel war.
Certain portions which were taken by Jews after they won the war are very important for the religious issues to the Muslim like the some parts of East Jerusalem where the AL-AQSA mosque is situated, but also the Wailing Wall
PALESTINIANS and the conflict
They feel that they are not free people because Israel soldiers stop them at check points between cities and therefore they must gain Israel’s approval each day to go to work, also they have less access to water.
PALESTINIANS DEMANDS FOR PEACE
i. a separate Palestinian state with 1967 boarders
ii. Palestinian control of East Jerusalem
iii. Ending Israel occupation over Palestinian territory
iv. Freedom of Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland
ISRAEL and the conflict
They view Palestinians militants as the terrorist who will not compromise to gain peace
ISRAEL DEMANDS FOR PEACE
i. Palestine boarders that ensures continuing Israel security from Palestine attack not the 1967 boarders
ii. Israel control of all Jerusalem
iii. Enough Israel control within Palestinian to allow Israel to destroy terrorist attack
iv. Prevention of Palestinian refugees from returning to their home land.
