peace keeping had been viewed as HOMOGENIOUS activity, yet now it is possible
to identify six (6) types of peace keeping

- Traditional peace keeping
- Operation set up to support implementation of a comprehensive settlement which has already been agreed upon by the parties
- Operation that protects the delivery of humanitarian relief supplies in condition of warfare
- Deployment of a force in a country where the institutions of the state have more or less collapsed
- Ceasefire enforcement
