UNAMID it is the African Union- United Nations hybrid operation in darfur deployed in 2006

                        Currently there are 19600 soldiers

MANDATES

Ø      Protection of civilians as core mandate

Ø      Contributing to security for humanitarian assistance

Ø      Monitoring and evaluating/ verifying implementation of the agreements

Ø      Assisting an inclusive political process

Ø      Contributing to the promotion of human rights and rule of law

Ø      Monitoring and reporting on the situation along with CHAD and central Africa Republic

NOTABLE SUCCESS

Ø      Mobilization of massive human and material resources for  relief operation in Darfur

            Saved the lives of millions of war affected communities

FAILURES

Ø      UNAMID’S mandate, composition and capabilities

Ø      Protection of internally displaced people and the war affected civilians

Ø      Protection of UNAMID’S soldiers, they have been subjected of frequent attacks and cold blood killing.
